I LOVED THIS CITY

Did I say it enough that I LOVED the city of Lisbon? Well, I will say it again. I LOVED IT and can't get enough of it. The people are so nice here. People greet you Bom Dia or Boa Tarde when you meet them on the street especially the old folks. It's still looks like the old Europe. They are very helpful especially when you ask for direction and they will actually take you to your destination if you were still confused.

I'm so getting used to their Subways now. I don't even look at the map anymore. They are so easy navigate and don't really mind the language difficulties. As long as I know my destination, I'm OK. When people tells you the direction, the sound of the place doesn't sound like how it spells. But the that city is built on North, South, West and East is not confusing at all. All I have to remeber is Norte, Sur, Oeste, and Leste and Esquerdo and direito for my left and right. Then when you buy, all you have to say is quanto é for how much is it?

LISBOA, PORTUGAL

Lisbon, a beautiful city that has a lot of characters, old colourful buildings and the people are very friendly and hospitable. This city is so pretty. Lots of hiking ( I mean up those hills) and they have those Cable cars from San Francisco and Trams (Muni). The Cable cars and Muni are actually from San Francisco. The photo above is called Ponte 25 de Abril and it's their version of the Golden Gate and the age is somewhat the same. The food here are so cheap and very delicious. They are very fond of seafood especially fish. I had one tonight and it was to die for. It reminds me of my childhood in the Philippines when we just cook the new caught fish and cook it right off the beach.

The language here is Portuguese (duh). It sounds beautiful and kinda similar to Spanish but not really. I had to learn new language again. When I was in Spain, I was really doing great Speaking Spanish and can go by with it as long as they will not ask me any long questions. But here, they say Bom Dia for good morning, Obrigado/a for thank you o for male and a for female. Denada (you are welcome) is the same as in Spanish. Some pronunciation here is so different in Spanish and I have to make sure I say it right. The people here are called Lisboetas (Lish - bo - e - tas) and they are proud of their heritage. They are very friendly and they speak good English. I have so many friends here now and they even suggest on where I should go. Well, tomorrow is another day of adventure again. ELLESMERE PORT AND CHESTER

I'm having a great time here in Ellesmere Port. This town is quiet and away from the city. Most people from London moved up here and most people that works in Liverpool lives down here too. Ellesmere Port is just minutes away from Liverpool and half hour drive from Chester. Chester is an old town built by the Romans many centuries ago. I believe it dates back to 100AD. The Roman ruins and the English architecture mixed together in harmony. The people here are very friendly and there are tons of tourists here who likes to shop. There are so many high end store in this area too. One of the beautiful structure here is the Chester Cathedral. It's enormous and the Gothic design is beautiful. Chester is easy to navigate by foot. The roads here, like most UK are so narrow but they always have pedestrian friendly roads. I will be heading back to London today. Back to the busy city again. I will miss this town. I will make sure I come back to this place again.

WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY

I had a wonderful birthday today. I spent most of my time in Hyde Park and at the Kensington Palace Gardens. I spent all day walking around the park. It was very peaceful and the weather was so nice. A little bit sunny with a cool breeze. I can say that this is my peaceful birthday ever and that how I wanted it to be. I was surrounded by many squirrels and birds in the park. I just contemplated on life and I thought to myself that I am very blessed that I get to travel and do what I love to do. God has been so good to me. Aside from many challenges and stress that life brought me, that is nothing compare to how many blessings I have received. This is the second time I spent my birthday outside the States and honestly, I did missed my family on my birthday. I really cannot complain though. I really had a nice birthday celebration given by my friends and family before I left for Europe. Tonight, I spend my night with my cousin and her friends hanging out in a Pub. Quiet honestly, I have never been in a English Pub and I can say is that I did have a great time and it was nice meeting new friends. Tomorrow, I am heading to Liverpool to meet my other cousin. Another exciting place to travel. I can't wait to get there. I will be traveling by High Speed Virgin Train. I love the train ride. I wish we have this kind of train in the West Coast especially from Phoenix. Well, it's time to hit the sack now. Another new chapter will begin tomorrow. I will be posting lots of photos and I hope you guys will enjoy them. I am very honored to share a piece of my world and experience my travel through my camera lens.
