DARKROOM

Lately, I've been having an itch to go back to the darkroom and develop my photos.  I really do missed developing my black and white's and I think the darkroom is a very calming and serene place to be in.  In this age of digital photography, everything is done in no time with the help of  computer manipulation, online and digital printing.  During that process, the art of photography is gone and forgotten.

Having to develop my photos in the darkroom was a different experience.  The art of it is a special one and only the trained eye and patient artist appreciates the outcome of it.  Darkroom developing is a tedious process (you must have a lot of patience) and not to mention expensive.  Chemical baths and black and white papers (I prefer to us Ilford papers) are expensive and when doing test strips, you try to save every inch of that paper.  Sometimes it takes 6 to 10 test strips just to get a perfect photos. That is why most photographer this days are using more digitals because it's cheaper and faster and less tedious.  But developing your own photos is different. If your passion is photography like mine, you enjoy every minute of it.  When you see your photos hanging on the wall, your time in the darkroom is all worth it.
